Surat: A major safety breach came to mild when masses of passengers have been asked to alight mid-way at Kim railway station because of technical failure within the educate signalling machine on Wednesday morning.
Official resources mentioned that there was glitch within the signalling machine at Kim railway station and Surat intercity and a local educate have been halted at the platform number 1 and 2 respectively. Passengers of the upcoming MEMU educate have been asked to alight mid-way at the track. This resulted in utter confusion some of the passengers who have been noticed speeding towards the platform.
Interestingly, the overall manager of western railway, Anil Gupta, who was at the routine every year inspection at Kim railway station, needed to skip the inspection and force away his saloon of particular wagons because of the sign failure.
Rajesh Modi who was present at the platform at the time of the incident informed TOI, “The passengers have been informed to alight midway from MEMU educate. There have been passengers who have been running helter-skelter at the railway tracks risking their lives to board the intercity and local educate standing at the Kim platform.”
“There was no announcement at the Kim station regarding the technical drawback and even the GM of WR zoomed handed without undertaking his every year inspection and assembly the folks short of to represent him concerning the station construction,” he alleged.
Sources mentioned that the incident occurred short time sooner than the GM’s saloon handed from the Kim railway station.
