Chikkamagaluru: Affirming that she was all in favour of contesting the impending Lok Sabha elections, senior BJP chief and incumbent MP for Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Shobha Karandlaje on Monday said, “But It's not that i am sure of what the celebration has in mind.”
Shobha said that she was in the district in line with the instructions of the celebration’s Karnataka president and former leader minister BS Yeddyurappa and the BJP nationwide leader Amit Shah.
Shobha arrived in the town against the backdrop of the hashtag #GoBackShobha doing the rounds on various social media platforms. The hashtag was reportedly started by means of a bit of people from Udupi and Chikkamagaluru districts, which is Shobha’s constituency, to draw attention to what they alleged was her negligence of the segment. Many social media customers tagged Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and accused Shobha of failing to put in force several central government programmes in the constituency.
The senior BJP chief, alternatively, dubbed the hashtag and the social media campaign surrounding it a conspiracy, which she attributed to those that had did not garner the folks’s confidence.
Responding to remarks made by means of president of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) Dinesh Gundurao, who alleged that Shobha had lost her ‘mental steadiness’, the latter said, “It was the BJP that ensured the Air Show was hosted by means of Bengaluru despite many hurdles. But the state government did not make arrangements for a fire gentle to take care of emergencies at the venue. Where was Dinesh Gundurao when 300 cars have been burning at the Air Force Station in Bengaluru? What have been police officers doing when the fire started? He is an MLA from Bengaluru too. Since the management of the coalition government in Karnataka has failed, I think Dinesh has lost his mental steadiness.”
