BENGALURU: A 33-year-old Mumbai lady, who worked as an HR and admin officer, used to be murdered in her hotel room in a tony township on ITPL Road, Whitefield, last weekend. The suspect used to be arrested on Wednesday.
Rajita Kadappuram, a resident of Mumbai and from Kadappuram of Thrissur district, Kerala, is suspected have been killed within the intervening night of February 8 and 9 in room no. 701, Crest hotel, at the seventh floor of Prestige Shantiniketan.
A laundry staffer of Crest, Laishram Hemba Singh, resident of Kadugodi area and from Khangabok, Thoubal in Manipur, has been arrested. He confessed to have killed Rajita for achieve.
Employed with Mumbai-based Helma India Pvt Ltd., Rajita worked for 15 days on the company’s Bengaluru administrative center and the remainder days in its Mumbai administrative center each month, police said. The Mumbai company’s Benglauru department too is located at Prestige Shantiniketan. Rajita stayed in Crest whenever she worked in Benglauru.
Rajita’s husband works with an airline in the United Kingdom. While in Mumbai Rajita stayed along with her oldsters, in Bengaluru she lived in Crest. Before joining her present employer on September 9, 2014, she had worked with Reliance Power, Kingfisher Airlines and other personal companies.
Police said Rajita can have been killed between 8.30pm on February 8 and four.30pm on February 9. Employees of the hotel did not disturb her as a ‘Do not disturb’ board used to be putting on the major door.
The homicide got here to light round 4.30pm on February 9, as the workers suspected one thing amiss and opened the door with a spare key. They found Rajita useless within the bedroom and alerted jurisdictional Kadugodi police.
Police rushed to the spot and located Rajita had frothed on the mouth. Suspecting suicide, they booked a case of unnatural dying and shifted the frame to Vydehi Medical College Hospital for postmortem.
The post-mortem record, however, concluded that Rajita used to be murdered. “The provisional opinion is that the cause of dying is because of the blended effect of smothering and head harm sustained,” the record read. The ultimate opinion will be in keeping with the chemical research record. The frame used to be later handed over to her father Kunni Raman.
