IGNOU to offer 4 new courses from July

PATNA: Indira Gandhi National Open University’s (IGNOU) regional office is about to introduce four new clinical and health certificates classes on the Nalanda Medical College and Hospital-Patna, Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College and Hospital-Gaya, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College-Bhagalpur and Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital-Muzaffarpur from the brand new academic session.
The university has signed a memorandum of working out (MoU) with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MHFW) for the six-month skill-based certificates classes, together with basic responsibility help, geriatric care help, phlebotomy help and residential health help. A skill training cell can also be created at IGNOU’s regional office.

IGNOU-Patna’s regional director Abhilash Nayak informed this newspaper on Tuesday that the MoU have been signed for 10 certificates classes, but best four would get started from July.


Each course could have 30 seats each and every in the four clinical schools. “The eligibility criterion for all of the classes is an Intermediate degree (biology). We will soon announce the dates for distribution and submission of software paperwork,” Nayak stated.


Students might be assessed on the end of the time period. Each course will center of attention at the theoretical portion (30 hours) at IGNOU-Patna’s study centre as well as practicals (80 hours) on the clinical schools along with a monthlong internship in hospitals.


Nayak stated, “The study material package deal, which incorporates books, sensible manuals, logbooks, audio-video study fabrics, web-board discussions, teleconferencing and assignments, has been evolved by means of the School of Health Sciences, IGNOU head office.”
