Justice Kolse Patil to contest Lok Sabha elections

Keen to sign up for the fray from Aurangabad as consensus candidate against BJP Sena, seeks reinforce from all parties

Justice BG Kolse Patil has announced that he will be contesting the normal election this year, from Aurangabad, with the backing of Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi — the political front floated through Bharipa Bahujan Mahasangh’s (BBM’s) Prakash Ambedkar and All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen’s (AIMIM’s) Asaduddin Owaisi.

Having declared his candidature, he has requested all parties, rather then BJP and its ally Shiv Sena, to not box a candidate and instead lend him their reinforce. “This election will likely be essential for the people who had been fighting to avoid wasting the Constitution. I've been fighting for this reason for many years now. We need to battle against these proper wing parties and it is important to hold up a united front. By fielding other candidates the votes (for those fighting the proper wing) will get divided and help the opposite aspect win,” Kolse Patil told Mirror.

The former Bombay High Court pass judgement on, who organised the debatable Elgaar Parishad in 2016, has been attending rallies held through Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi and has been the key speaker at them. While Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) are still hammering out an alliance, Kolse Patil has sought their reinforce at Aurangabad.

In reality Congress and NCP had been looking to get Ambedkar on board the grand alliance being formed in the state. But Ambedkar has sought readability at the motion plan to bring Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) throughout the ambit of the charter. Under the cases, reinforce to Kolse Patil hinges on toning up the alliance with Ambedkar, say Congress celebration males. “We are in talks with Ambedkar for an alliance. However, a call remains to be pending. So any thought for supporting Kolse Patil will likely be taken up best after things are finalised,” identified Sachin Sawant, Congress spokesperson.
