LUDHIANA: In an extraordinary action taken via state taxation department, powers of six excise and taxation officer (ETO) degree officers of the dept, five of whom are posted in Ludhiana and one in Fatehgarh Sahib, have been withdrawn with quick effect and they all have been attached with the Patiala headquarters.
Orders in this regard have been issued via excise and taxation commissioner (ETC), Punjab, Vivek Pratap Singh. According to assets in the department, the action has been taken due to the alleged involvement of those officers in serving to the tax evaders but best brass of the dept has refused to reveal the reasons for the action.
The six ETOs in opposition to whom the action has been taken include Shalinder Singh of range-2 Ludhiana, Anish Sharma, Ved Prakash Jakhar and Mukti Gupta of range-1 Ludhiana, Tanul Goyal of range-3 Ludhiana and Neetu Bawa of Fatehgarh Sahib. As in step with the orders all of the investigations and all of the regimen paintings which used to be under process in the offices of those officers have been allotted to other officers from Thursday.
Confirming the development to IdealNews ETC Vivek Pratap Singh stated, “These six officers have been attached with the headquarters till further understand and with the intention to avoid any suffering of public the paintings under process in their offices has been allotted to other officers.” When requested about the cause of such strict action taken via him in opposition to the officers, Singh ducked the query and stated, “These are respectable things which I'd not like to comment. Whether it's an action in opposition to an officer or likewise, I may not like to give a comment in the media.”
