Rajkot: Anand Swaroopdas, a clergyman with the Vadia Swaminarayan temple in Amreli district, and his motive force have been booked on Monday for allegedly raping a girl at knifepoint in a transferring automobile per week again in Junagadh.
The duo used to be booked after the 39-year-old rape survivor lodged complaint with C Division police station of Junagadh. Police stated that each the accused have been untraceable.
The rape survivor lodged complaint with police on Sunday night. In her complaint she has mentioned that she used to be having some issues with her husband and they they each have been residing one after the other since past few months.
During that time the lady came into contact with Swaroopdas and sought his assist to get to the bottom of her home issues. Swaroopdas ensured her that via his mediation the problem can be resolved.
Police complaint further mentioned that the accused priest remained in touch with the rape survivor regardless that fast messaging app WhatsApp to achieve her agree with and in a way exploited her emotionally.
According to the lady’s complaint, on February 18, Swaroopdas came to Junagadh in automobile with motive force Sunder Swaroopdas.
The accused then called the lady close to Shishu Mangal (a landmark) the place she used to be asked to board the car.
Police stated that the lady used to be allegedly raped via Swaroopdas in a transferring automobile at knifepoint at the road from Shishu Mangal to Bilkha Road Gate.
The woman in her complaint alleged that the accused had threatened to kill her if she informed concerning the incident to anybody.
The accused duo were booked for kidnap and rape.
Talking to IdealNews Junagadh superintendent of police Saurabh Singh stated, “We have registered the complaint in line with the commentary of the rape survivor. She has been despatched for scientific check. The accused have gone underground because the complaint used to be lodged.”
