PGI union black flag protest withdrawn

CHANDIGARH: The proposed black flag protest by means of the PGI union stands withdrawn.

The decision was taken at an pressing meeting referred to as by means of PGI director Dr Jagat Ram with the dep. workers union, clinical technologists affiliation and engineers affiliation at the factor of black flag protest scheduled for February nine towards demolition plan of group centre, 40 properties and central workshop.

Director Ram said there was no plan to demolish 40 properties of kind 13 D which belongs to PGI in Chandigarh.

The union was informed that the brand new state of artwork group centre can be built one year sooner than the existing group centre was demolished for geriatric centre.


Further, the deliberate renovation of the group centre can be carried out inside stipulated duration. The union has asked to make renovations inside two months.


"We have been told that an agenda for construction of new central workshop at the earmarked place is a master plan which will be placed before SFC in next meeting. In the meantime, safety aspects and interrelated work of different sections of workshop will be investigated while making temporary shifting arrangements. In view of such positive developments, the union has assured to withdraw its action programme of Black Flags on February 9," said PGI workers union president Ashwani Kumar Munjal.


"The PGI administration assured to convey the written decisions by Saturday morning and the union will also give in writing immediately thereafter," he added.
