NAGPUR: A petitioner has moved Nagpur bench of Bombay prime court docket alleging violations in appointment of latest contributors on State Haj Committee. He prayed for cancelling February 14 executive notification regarding their appointments.
A division bench comprising justices Ravi Deshpande and Vinay Joshi on Tuesday, issued notices to centre and state governments, at the side of Haj Committee asking them to reply inside of two weeks.
Petitioner Maulana Habib Rizvi Mohammed Hussain, a Muslim astrologer and law expert, informed that the state level Haj Committee comprises 3 contributors from Muslim MPs and MLAs, 3 from councillors, 3 from Muslim theology and legal expertise, and some of the non-governmental organizations (NGOs), totalling to 16, as consistent with the Haj Committee Act-2002. The tenure of all contributors is 3 years.
He contended that the government’s notification does no longer come with MPs and MLAs while the Muslim group has 2 MPs, 10 MLAs and four legislative council contributors. According to the rules of 2009, appointing each and every councillor from Mumbai, Nagpur and Aurangabad areas is essential, however the ones weren't followed while making new appointments. Mohammad Atik and Bhavika Rathi argued the case on petitioner’s behalf.
