Renovated church will be inaugurated today

Belagavi: The renovated church construction of Sacred Heart Church at Madanbhavi in Bailhongal taluk, about 36 kms from here will probably be inaugurated at 11am on Sunday.
Archbishop Emeritus of Bangaluru, Rev Dr Bernard Moras, who has earlier served the diocese of Belagavi for 9 years as its Bishop, will bless the renovated construction and also will offer particular mass.

Rev Fr Nelson Pinto, the parish priest of Madanbhavi, mentioned on Saturday that the primary church used to be built in 1936 by late Jesuit priest Rev Fr Thomas Kottaram when Belagavi and North Karnataka area had been underneath Goa province.


“Sisters of Bethany, who assisted Fr Kottaram, are running a hostel for the deficient and needy children coming from neighbouring villages equivalent to Mallapur, Hanbaratti, and Murkibhavi,” Fr Nelson Pinto added.


“As the church used to be in a dilapidated condition, we made up our minds to renovate it with the improve from the state executive and people’s contribution. We are glad that the renovated church has added to the spirituality and topography of Madanbhavi village,” Fr Nelson mentioned.


A lot of Christians, priests and nuns are anticipated to take part in the inaugural and the non secular celebrations that may follow.
