Rtd TNSTC workers fight for Jan pension

Coimbatore: Retired Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) staff staged a sit-in on the TNSTC head place of business premises on Mettupalayam Road right here on Thursday, urging the government settle pension dues of 3,000 of them.

Pointing out that 7,000 retired TNSTC staff within the district have been receiving pension from the government each month, TNSTC Retired Employees’ Welfare Association general secretary P Selvarajan said, “But the state executive didn't provide us pension for January. When we protested, the government dispensed pension to four,000 retired staff two days in the past. The closing three,000 are ignored.”


More than 1,000 retired staff participated within the protest.


Selvarajan said TNSTC officers had within the morning promised them to deposit the pension amount to their ba nk accounts via night time, however failed to take action. “Hence, we've determined to habits an enormous protest on the TNSTC head place of business on Friday. If the government is not offering the pension amount, we can accentuate the protest.”


He said those that got retirement from April 2018 weren't equipped any benefit. “We also are preventing for them.”
