PANAJI: Stakeholders, at a roundtable dialogue on amendments to the Goa Children’s Act on Saturday, prompt the directorate of training to organise periods on ‘good contact’ and ‘dangerous contact’ for students right from the main level.
Pointing out that children who don't seem to be trained about this are susceptible to repeated abuse, public prosecutor at the Goa Children’s Court, Milana Pinto advised that such talks be held once a month which can also be carried out via counsellors, NGOs or even public prosecutors.
The case of a kid being time and again raped from same old I right until same old VIII came to mild only when the kid informed an NGO employee after a session on ‘good and dangerous contact’ that, that used to be what she experienced, Pinto said.
“The state of affairs is dangerous. Offences are dedicated over and over,” she said.
Director of training, Nagraj Honnekeri, said a chain of programmes for academics are being held with the assistance of Goa State AIDS Control Society, well being department and doctors.
