Six-lane project: DC to take action after delay

Ludhiana: Due to the lengthen in the of completion of six-lane project on nationwide freeway 44 (Panipat to Delhi), the deputy commissioner (DC) Pardeep Agrawal will suggest action towards non-public corporate Soma Isolux by way of stopping toll tax collection by way of the company.

In the meeting of Unified Metropolitan Transport Authority (UMTA) on Saturday, the issue of incomplete portion of bridges on nationwide freeway was once raised and the deputy commissioner claimed he'll write towards the company to National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) and ministry of street transport and highways for action. The six-lane project was once introduced throughout overdue Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s tenure and continues to be incomplete.


The DC claimed that many people are going through problems because of visitors congestion in this street and several political parties have also raised the topic with him. He claimed that the company should no longer be allowed to get better toll tax from common public when they have got failed to complete the work in the given time frame.


Recently, even the SAD district president Ranjit Dhillon had submitted a letter to Union minister Nitin Gadkari over this issue. In the letter to Gadkari, it was once mentioned that there was no development in the project at more than a few issues passing through Ludhiana, together with the bridges from Giaspura to Basti Jodhewal because of which people face a large number of visitors problems.


Since no person from NHAI was once present, every other meeting shall be conducted with them in the coming days to arrive at a conclusion.
