Thief escapes with groom’s new pair of shoes

SURAT: A burglar, who got here to thieve in a space in Limbayat, fell in love with a pair of recent sneakers that he ensured he took them at the side of the property. The space of Chetan Khasiya, 22, a diamond polisher, used to be targeted via the burglar 3 weeks sooner than the former’s marriage. The burglar who escaped dressed in Khasiya’s new pair of shoes, bought for his marriage, also took at the side of him cash and jewellery value Rs23,500 from the house. The burglar, on the other hand, ensured that he left behind his pair of shoes, most likely as a compassionate gesture for the victim.

Cops booked an unidentified burglar at Limbayat police station on Wednesday for the robbery. Khasiya returned home on Wednesday morning after evening accountability to search out the property stolen, including his new sneakers. His parents have long past to their native village in Gariyadhar of Bhavnagar district to arrange for the marriage.


Khasiya is to get married on February 24-25 for which he had bought some jewellery for self. The jewellery and a few cash were saved in an iron bed in the house. The burglar entered his space after breaking the front door’s lock between 12 nighttime and 6am when Khasiya left for job.


“I will be able to have to buy a pair of recent sneakers now and likewise arrange for money to make another purchases for my marriage. I hope police will catch the burglar and get better my valuables. My circle of relatives had left for our village two days in the past. I was on evening accountability on Tuesday and returned subsequent day morning to search out my space burgled,” stated Khasiya.


Police are analyzing CCTV footages of the area to identify the burglar, who loves new sneakers.
