Vadodara: Seventy varieties of flowers displayed in annual flower show

VADODARA: It used to be a floral treat on the Gujarat Refinery’s 40th annual flower display the place 70 varieties of other species of flowers had been on display in the city. Flowers equivalent to orchids, dahlia, gladiolus, salvia, zinnia and gloxinia amongst others are displayed in the display. Also, rare type of flowers like clianthus which develop in chillier areas had been also grown particularly for flower display.

Prizes were given away to the winners of the flower display competitions like seasonal and everlasting potted crops, cactus and bonsai crops, flower arrangement, vegetable crops, decorative garden and kitchen garden. The flower display used to be inaugurated by means of impartial director, Indian Oil, Parindu Bhagat in the presence of executive director, Gujarat Refinery, Sudhir Kumar. Member of Parliament, Vadodara, Ranjanben Bhatt also attended the flower display.

Bhatt stated that the once a year flower display is a pleasure for the electorate. The annual flower display contributes to the larger purpose of inspiring floriculture and creating consciousness about the want for environmental conservation, she added. Apart from display of colourful flowers, cultural programmes, laser display, vegetarian meals festival, a laugh actions, games and meals stalls entertained the electorate during the display.
