THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The enthusiasm shown through a site visitors cop on accountability at Museum Junction in Thiruvananthapuram helped the town police arrest a notorious chain snatcher within hours after he snatched the gold chain of an elderly lady on Wednesday.
The accused Sajeev, 28, of Chithra Nagar close to Poojapura, allegedly snatched the gold chain off an aged lady, Parvathy, of Kairal Garden colony at Thirumala on Wednesday around 10.30am. Parvathy used to be returning house after visiting a temple. The accused approached the ladies pretending to ask for an address and then snatched her chain and fled on his motorbike.
The crime used to be captured through the surveillance cameras in the locality. Soon, the Control Room officers passed the identity details of the accused and the vehicle through a wi-fi communication machine. Traffic cop Biju kumar used to be on accountability at Museum junction when he gained the message. He made up our minds to scan the world and discovered a motorbike that shared an identical identifications of the accused parked close to Kanakakkunnu Palace, around two hours after the snatching used to be reported.
