Varanasi: Unruly scenes were witnessed inside the Azamgarh divisional jail, when two groups of prisoners clashed on Saturday night.
Heavy police force was once deployed inside the jail, while Azamgarh district magistrate Shivakanth Dwivedi and SP Triveni Singh were camping until late night on the spot to monitor the placement.
ADG Varanasi (Zone) PV Ram Shastri instructed IdealNews that officials together with heavy force were present inside the jail and seeking to carry the placement under control.
On Friday, two prisoners, Vinay Pandey and Atahar, clashed over an old dispute. Jail guards and officials had to intrude to carry the placement under control. ASP (City) Kamlesh Bahadur stated, “After investigating the Friday incident, we won a criticism from jail superintendent after which an FIR was once lodged on this connection.”
On Saturday morning, a staff of district officials and police searched the barracks when some cell phones were recovered, stated Shastri.
Following these traits, both the prisoners got here face to face once more on Saturday night, resulting in a conflict between the 2 warring groups. Jail officials alerted the district management after which heavy police force was once deployed inside the jail premises.
