Air India asks pilots to stop ordering special meals & take regular ones

NEW DELHI: Air India has barred its pilots from ordering particular foods for themselves and requested them to take the common foods ordered by the airline. Flight caterers say this can be a common apply to get particular meal requests from AI pilots, something that levels from whatever they may wish together with very pricey foods. Special foods can be allowed only for medical causes.


AI’s director operations, captain Amitabh Singh, wrote a mail to pilots pronouncing: “It has been brought to (his) realize that flight staff are ordering particular meal/s which is against rules. The best staff, who for medical causes, would possibly order for particular foods, (that is) meals really useful by doctor. (as according to rules) ‘staff will have to adhere to the meal schedules laid down by the company and will have to no longer authorise meal uplift on their very own’.”
