Asst prof hangs self after quarrel, dies in hosp

GREATER NOIDA: A 26-year-old assistant professor at NIET, who was found striking in her hostel room at Knowledge Park area on Sunday night, died in a clinic on Monday.
Ruby Kushwaha (26), was from Kushinagar in Gorakhpur and she or he stayed in a hostel of the Noida Institute of Engineering and Technology (NIET) the place she worked as an assistant professor of biotechnology.

Police said she were given married to Saurabh Jain, from Madhya Pradesh, two-and-a-half-years ago. He stays in Mysore and is a PhD scholar.

“We were given the guidelines round 6pm on Sunday. The girl was rushed to Yatharth clinic the place she stayed on ventilator reinforce,” said Dinesh Kumar, sub-inspector, Knowledge Park police station.

He said the girl and her husband had a controversy on the telephone on Sunday. “The husband said right through wondering that she was going through depression and had a migraine problem. He used to prevent her from taking medicines (for headache). He did that on Sunday and it ended in the argument. Later, the girl stopped taking his calls and he requested the warden to test on her. The warden found Ruby striking,” said Kumar.


Police said no suicide notice was found and no case has been registered.


An NIET consultant told IdealNews that Ruby had joined in December 2018.


“Tuesday was declared off when we were given the inside track. We extend our reinforce to the family,” he said.
