Bengaluru: Kids ask adults to follow traffic rules

BENGALURU: “Accidents don't occur, they're led to. Slow down, your family might be ready. Stop sooner than the road,” read the placards held via a number of children at the busy Iblur Junction on Sarjapur Road on Saturday.


The children, who are living in and around Bellandur, stomped the streets to create visitors consciousness amongst motorists and reduce the choice of accidents within the house. The children had come together beneath the banner of Bellandur Jothege, which comprises 79 resident welfare teams, as part of an initiative dubbed as Traffic Rules Awareness Drive.


Speaking to STOI, 14-year-old Aadiv Reki of Indus International School mentioned, “It is steadily observed that cars halt at the zebra crossing and inconvenience pedestrians trying to pass the road. When children attempt to create consciousness on at the road, adults may really feel ashamed of themselves and apply laws.” Reki was blowing the trumpet to draw the eye of motorists.


Joining him, nine-year-old Sarth Vivek of Harvest International School mentioned, “I believe excited to be part of this campaign. Looking at me doing this, my buddies are also willing to join TRAD. It is necessary for other folks to apply visitors laws to ensure their safety is undamaged.” Other children, who participated within the campaign, have been observed giving chocolates to motorists who apply laws.


Bellandur Jothege had a trial run of the challenge on March 2 the place over 17 children had participated. “Additional commissioner of visitors P Harishekaran was impressed with the idea and asked to do it each Saturday and the citizen’s forum determined to launch the campaign,” mentioned Priya Venkat, a resident.
