BHUBANESWAR: Three coaches of Puri-Hatia Tapaswini Express have been seriously affected after a fireplace broke out within S4 coach of the train at Puri station on Friday. As it was once empty train, no casualties have been reported up to now.
The train arrived at its vacation spot Puri station at around 8am. It was once saved on the station for cleaning objective. At 12.55pm, hearth broke out at S4 coach. The station team of workers, Railway Protection Force (RPF) and hearth brigade swung into motion to douse the hearth. They took multiple hour to control the blaze.
East Coast Railway (ECoR) assets said S4 coach has been badly damaged, while S3 and S5 have been in part affected in the incident. Station team of workers bring to an end the AC and other coaches from S6 onwards to forestall spreading of fireplace as a part of its same old operating procedure.
Senior officials from Bhubaneswar rushed to the spot to take inventory of the situation. "The reason of the fire is yet to be known. After proper inquiry by experts, the cause of fire can be ascertained," said a spokesperson of the ECoR.
An ECoR observation said, "All efforts are being made to ensure right time departure of the train from Puri this evening. Three sleeper coaches will be attached to this train at Puri."
