Buses, trucks to pay more to cross Kherki Daula toll

GURUGRAM: NHAI has revised fares for automobiles crossing the Kherki Daula toll plaza. While single passage toll rates for vehicles and mini buses haven’t been changed, vehicles and buses will have to pay Rs 5 more from April 1.
Commuters getting per month passes will have to shell out a bit more. “NHAI has higher the per month go charge of vehicles by way of a nominal amount — from the existing Rs 710 to Rs 735. The building up of Rs 25 will assist us handle the throughway in a greater manner. Commuters should be happy that we haven’t higher the day-to-day commuting charges of vehicles,” a senior legitimate from concessionaire Millennium City Expressway Private Limited (MCEPL) stated.

Single passage fares for vehicles haven’t been changed for the primary time for the reason that toll plaza became operational in 2014. “NHAI has not revised the rates for vehicles and mini buses this time, regardless that we are facing huge losses on the toll plaza every day,” MCEPL chief S Raghuraman stated. According to the concessionaire, they suffer income losses of round Rs 3.5 lakh day-to-day.

The single passage toll fare for buses and vehicles has been raised to Rs 195, while they will have to pay Rs 2,910 for a per month go, an building up of Rs 110. “According to a survey conducted by way of MCEPL remaining November, as many as 2,615 buses, 1,905 vehicles and 52,567 vehicles pass the toll plaza day-to-day. Heavy automobiles which pass the toll will want to pay more even if their numbers are lesser,” an MCEPL legitimate stated.

Commuters, in the meantime, complained that regardless that toll fares are raised time to time, the throughway concessionaire doesn’t provide even basic amenities to commuters. “Authorities aren’t serious about making improvements to toll plaza control services, handiest about elevating fares. It is arbitrary to be expecting commuters to pay more for such poor services,” stated Vivek Prakash, a resident of Sector 86.

“Though the day-to-day fare hasn’t been higher, it's of little need for many new sector residents who purchase per month passes. This hike will have an effect on numerous such residents, as they want to pass the toll a number of times a day,” added Manjeet Malik, a resident of Sector 93.
