SASARAM/PATNA: A rice mill proprietor and his good friend have been killed by a gang of miscreants who tied their fingers and toes with a rope and drowned them in a roadside ditch in Rohtas district overdue on Tuesday night time. The bodies of Manik Chand Sah, 45, and Gopal Sah, 40, have been discovered early on Wednesday morning.
The killing of the duo sparked off protest by family members of the victims and native citizens, who blocked the nationwide highway-30 paralysing traffic on the road for roughly three hours on Wednesday.
Rohtas superintendent of police Satyaveer Singh mentioned the incident came about around 11pm on Tuesday when the mill proprietor and his good friend had gone to their newly opened rice mill at Laheri village beneath the Parasthua police outpost on the borders of Rohtas and Buxar districts. The duo have been, in fact, coming back from a marriage ceremony at Kota village, about 30 km away, in neighbouring Kaimur district on a motorcycle.
The gang individuals, who have been loading baggage of rice and paddy on a truck, have been stunned after they noticed the duo on the mill. “Seeing them, the miscreants tied the duo’s fingers and toes with a rope and threw them right into a ditch stuffed with water. They then pushed their bike on them, resulting in their death in an instant,” mentioned the SP. The miscreants escaped with the truck. Sasaram subdivisional police officer Rajesh Kumar mentioned the criminals had stored two labourers of the rice mill hostage sooner than the arrival of its proprietor and his caretaker.
