PALANPUR: Tension prevailed in Patan ion Thursday following clash between supporters of suspended Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University (HNGU) vice chancellor BA Patel and Patan Congress MLA Kirit Patel on Thursday. Both the teams due to this fact lodged complaints against the rival team with the police.
BA Patel used to be on Wednesday removed through chief minister Vijay Rupani over charges of corruption and irregularities. An inquiry against BA Patel had confirmed the charges.
Supporters of the tainted VC and the local legislator entered into scuffle at Vishvash Complex on Rajmahal Road when BA Patel used to be popping out of his administrative center.
“As I used to be popping out of the administrative center two individuals including Shailesh Patel, government committee member of HNGU and a municipal council member Manoj Patel threatened to kill me for submitting complaints against BA Patel,” said Kirit Patel.
Both teams later filed counter complaint with police that is investigating the matter.
