Cubbon Park to get 800 smart LED lights

BENGALURU: Soon the lights in Cubbon Park will mechanically brighten or dim according to the movement of other people within the park, the time of the day and the season, due to the over 800 good LED lights fitted with motion sensors and environmental sensors these days being installed there.

The lights, which can be monitored from a centralised control gadget, are programmable in keeping with differences due to the season. The motion sensors will even enable the lights to stick dim when there is no movement of other people throughout the park, stated officials of Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (Bescom), which is executing the good lights undertaking in Cubbon Park.


On the other hand, the environmental sensors will help the lights dim throughout long summer season days. They will brighten earlier within the night time throughout rainy and winter season when the days are shorter, they added.


"We will install smart display screens and integrate them with the environmental sensors, which will help display pollution levels. The screens will also provide details of various events at Cubbon Park and explain the heritage of the park, besides spreading awareness about the dos and don'ts while inside the park. Free Wi-Fi will also be provided to visitors as part of the project," stated Anil Kumar D'Souza, DGM, Technology Innovation Centre, Bescom.


"Two of the proposed 50 LED displays had been installed at Cubbon Park on an experimental basis. The leisure will be installed within the coming week. The verbal exchange gadget will be tested next month, stated Bescom officials.
