Dhaula Kuan flyover all set to open on Saturday

NEW DELHI: The daily trouble of negotiating long visitors jams at the airport-Dhaula Kuan road is likely to end from Saturday, when the national freeway authority (NHAI) opens a one-way flyover that will get rid of visitors lighting at the T-point next to Dhaula Kuan Metro station, where Cariappa Marg meets NH 48.

The visitors mild mechanically sees long tailbacks extending as much as Parade Road crossing, with visitors spilling again as much as Jharsa village during top hours. The flyover is expected to avoid wasting about 15 minutes of travel time during top hours, officials stated.




NHAI officials stated the four-lane, half-km long flyover can be finished through Friday, in time for its inauguration through highways minister Nitin Gadkari. “The flyover has been finished in just six months and this contains about 45 days when paintings used to be stopped because of air pollution. Another 42 days were misplaced as we had to halt paintings for security reasons and VIP movements on this stretch,” a supply stated.


The respectable added that all the venture — including a tunnel on Parade Road crossing, an underpass throughout NH 48 and different enhancements — can be finished in June towards the deadline of December 2019.


Commuters will save no less than 30 minutes once all segments of the venture open. At least four lakh vehicles take this stretch daily. The shipping ministry estimates that gas value Rs 40 lakh is wasted at the Dhaula Kuan stretch every day.
