JALANDHAR: A senior police officer in Madhya Pradesh has been "guarding" his father, who docs declared lifeless relatively some time back, for 2 months now. Hundreds of miles away in Punjab, it's been more than 5 years that Ashutosh Maharaj, founder of Divya Jyoti Jagriti Sansthaan Nurmahal, pronounced "clinically dead" through the clinical fraternity, has been kept in a deep freezer through his fans - a document of varieties in itself.
The sect has insisted a lot of these years and all the way through each congregation at their Nurmahal headquarters that their leader could be back from "samadhi". The fans' religion in the miracle that they hope for has remained unflinching whilst politicians cutting across events continue to discuss with the Sansthaan where Maharaj delivered his discourses.
Apart from conserving a couple of giant purposes, the Sansthaan organizes small congregations each Sunday and a monthly amassing on the second Sunday of each month. During each of those events, the control reaffirms that Ashutosh Maharaj could be back.
Apart from the truth that Maharaj is not there to talk to his target market, nothing much has modified at the Sansthaan. The tasks of social service go on like they used to and new structures are also coming. The place itself is throbbing with activities. Some senior sadhus were running the group's affairs and its preachers, including sadhvis, themselves deal with periodic congregations at more than a few places. The ban on entry of media throughout the Sansthaan headquarters, which used to be installed place a couple of days after the "clinical death", remains because it used to be.
