Katti misses BJP ticket, asks workers to wait till April 4

Belagavi: The place of dwelling of Katti brothers in Bellad Bagewadi in Hukkeri taluk, which was brimming with workers till Friday afternoon, wore a deserted glance within the evening because the BJP announced tickets to Examba-based birthday celebration leader Annasaheb Jolle.
Ramesh Katti, chairman of Belagavi District Central Cooperative (BDCC) bank, and brother of Hukkeri MLA Umesh Katti, was a robust aspirant for BJP ticket from Chkkodi Lok Sabha seat. After coming to know that he neglected the ticket, the cell phones of each brothers remained switched off for few hours.

However, within the evening, replying to media persons, former minister Umesh Katti mentioned he'll request the birthday celebration leadership to rethink the verdict and advised the supporters to wait till April 4. “We will wait till April 4. Will see what will happen. We are taking suggestions from different leaders and our supporters,” he mentioned, including that anything can happen within the politics.

In reality, there was robust lobbying for ticket for over every week between Ramesh Katti and Annasaheb Jolle. Former minister Umesh Katti was camping in Bengaluru for the past two days to foyer for the ticket but in useless. Annasaheb Jolle, who got the ticket, had lost the 2014 assembly elections with a meagre margin in opposition to Ganesh Hukkeri in Chikkodi-Sadalaga constituency. His spouse Shashikala Jolle is sitting MLA from Nippani.

The missing of the ticket is nothing less than a shocker to Katti brothers, who have been making ready for this election for the past five years by keeping in contact with the workers. The Kattis have been absolutely assured of successful the seat this time but never anticipated the sort of stunning twist at the last second.

The BJP strategically delayed ticket announcement leaving the Congress to announce its applicants in each Chikkodi and Belagavi constituencies, in order that Ramesh Katti wouldn’t be capable to get Congress ticket.

Meanwhile, at Belagavi, district in-charge minister Satish Jarkiholi mentioned no discussions happened within the birthday celebration about Ramesh Katti joining Congress. However, anyone wishes to enroll in the Congress accepting the ideology of the birthday celebration shall be welcome, he mentioned. The high-command takes a call on such issues, he added.
