Make-up isn't mandatory for Virgin Atlantic flight attendants

Virgin Atlantic feminine cabin team are to be allowed to work with out dressed in makeup, the corporate introduced, and will be capable to wear trousers as an ordinary option in their signature pink uniforms.
Previously trousers, although accepted, needed to be specifically ordered from the airline's uniforms department.

"Not only do the new guidelines offer an increased level of comfort, they also provide our team with more choice on how they want to express themselves at work," Virgin said in a remark.

It added: "Female cabin crew are no longer required to wear any make up, if they so choose. They are however, still very welcome to wear any of our existing palette of make-up (including lipstick and foundations) set out in Virgin Atlantic's guidelines."


Trousers at the moment are available as an option for all women and might be equipped as same old when becoming a member of Virgin Atlantic, it said.


The adjustments come after comments from staff of the airline, and as a few of its more recent competition are enjoyable traditional cabin team uniform regulations.


Several airlines akin to British Airways and Emirates still require feminine cabin team to wear makeup while working, although in 2016 British Airways did drop its rule that ladies may not wear trousers.
