Man held for forging charity officer’s signatures

Vadodara: The detection of crime branch (DCB) has arrested a man for forging signatures and stamp of the charity commissioner and getting ready bogus paperwork related to a land in Bil village on the town’s outskirts.

Dharmesh Shah was nabbed after Prayag Gupta, a resident of Gotri, registered a criticism against him at Manjalpur police station.


Shah was produced prior to an area courtroom on Wednesday that remanded him to a few days of police custody. Gupta instructed the police that he had met Shah through a common pal in 2016. Shah presented to promote a piece of land in Bil or even showed the plot to Gupta in presence of land agent Raju Patel and complainant’s pal Alpesh Chauhan.


Shah instructed Gupta that the land belonged to a temple accept as true with and he had bought it from them. The accused even produced paperwork with the charity commissioner’s signatures and stamp. Gupta then paid Rs 31 lakh to Shah against the land deal. However, when Gupta asked for the land’s ownership, Shah started dilly-dallying.


Later, Gupta was instructed that Shah had to pay Rs 11 crore against this land deal in charity commissioner’s place of job of which Rs 3 crore are pending. Gupta asked for the receipt of this payment but he didn’t get any. Later, Gupta sent the paperwork wearing charity commissioner’s signatures that Shah had earlier given to him to the commissioner’s place of job. Gupta mentioned in his criticism that the paperwork turned out to be take following which he filed a criticism of cheating against Shah.
