MUMBAI: The winner of the most costly flat in Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority's (Mhada) historical past of lottery sales has returned the flat value Rs 5.eight crore to the housing board. Vinod Shirke, who's a Shiv Sena shakha pramukh from Agripada, stated he discovered the Vaastu (structure) faulty.
However, the managing committee informed IdealNews that two brothers who owned the house are combating a legal combat. "One of them is saying the apartment was sold to Mhada without his knowledge," a committee member stated.
Shirke, a smalltime entrepreneur, had struck gold when he gained two 2 BHK flats in Dhavalgiri Building, Nana Chowk, on the December 2018 lottery. These had been a few of the most expensive flats ever bought through the company. One space on the fifth ground used to be priced Rs 5.eight crore, the opposite on the 3rd ground Rs four.99 crore. Yet some other flat in Dhavalgiri used to be bought for Rs 5.1 crore to some other purchaser in the lottery.
"I got both my new houses checked my childhood friend Tejas Talaskar who is an astrologer. He advised me to surrender both flats because he found the Vaastu flawed. But I am keeping the smaller one because the basic elements of sun, moon, doors and windows are satisfactory. The house should be habitable with a few modifications," Shirke stated.
Interestingly, the Rs four.99 crore space that Shirke holds may be underneath litigation because the society has wondered Mhada's possession over all 3 flats. It has accused the board of not having paid upkeep dues amounting to Rs 75 lakh.
"Mhada did furnish some documents in court but the crucial registration papers were missing. Moreover they have yet to pay us the outstanding maintenance dues since October 2013 when they claim to have acquired the flats. This sum amounts to Rs 75-80 lakh. Until they fulfil both conditions, we will not transfer the flats to the new 'buyer'," stated a member of the managing committee.
Shirke stated his fears over litigation have been "assuaged" through senior Mhada officials Madhu Chavan and Vinod Ghosalkar. "They have said it is not for me to worry. I believe the board is a trusted agency and will handle the matter," Shirke stated.
The housing board has stated it'll provide proof of possession and pay the society dues in courtroom. As for the flat relinquished through Shirke, it'll be presented to the following wait listed candidate in the lottery.
