Mysuru records hottest March day

MYSURU: Mysuru witnessed the easiest ever temperature for March on Thursday with the mercury touching 38 degrees Celsius.
According to the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) data, temperature within the city hovered between 32 and 38 degrees on Thursday. According to private weather provider suppliers, the temperature soared to 39 degrees. The earlier report for the easiest temperature for the month used to be 37.8 degrees, recorded on March 30, 1931.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) data, in March 2018, the easiest temperature recorded within the district used to be 25.five degrees Celsius. It used to be 37.1 degrees in 2016.


City’s temperature is expected to be 2-3 degrees above normal for the next two days. “As in keeping with the forecast issued for South Interior Karnataka, there will not be any fashionable or scattered rainfall for the following couple of days. Rain is also reported from isolated puts. The temperature is expected to be 2-3 degrees above normal for the next couple of days,” said G S Srinivasa Reddy, director of KSNDMC.


On the maximum temperature phenomena in Mysuru, he said transparent sky is one of the causes. “But typically the temperature graphs can’t be when compared as weather stations are arrange at other puts,” he said.


Meanwhile, the health department has taken up consciousness drives to make sure folks don’t face any health-related problems during summer time. Speaking to TOI, Dr Chidambara, in-charge officer, FSSAI, Mysuru, said normal instructions linked to scrub drinking water and maintaining cleanliness at quite a lot of occasions and car festivals have already been issued.
