ALLAHABAD: Visiting the city for the primary time after being declared Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) candidate from Allahabad parliamentary constituency for the Lok Sabha elections, UP minister Rita Bahuguna Joshi received a rousing welcome from supporters no longer just from her personal birthday celebration, however Congress as neatly on Saturday.


Joshi had been with Congress till 2017, after which she joined BJP. She successfully contested from Lucknow Cantonment on a BJP ticket in the 2017 UP meeting elections. Joshi was a professor in Allahabad University. She later went directly to transform the mayor of the city in 1995. The huge turnout of supporters integrated around 15-20 Congress employees including the vice-president of the District Congress Committee Sant Prasad Pandey.


The UP minister's convoy entered Allahabad from Phaphamau and a lot of BJP employees welcomed her at Phaphamau Bridge. The convoy passed via Teliarganj market and later reached Balson Crossing, the place Joshi paid tributes to statues of Rishi Bharadhwaj, Mahatma Gandhi and Deen Dayal Upadhyay. The cavalcade reached Medical Crossing, the place she garlanded a statue of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shashtri.


Later, she garlanded statues of Chunan Guru at Ghantaghar, her past due father and previous UP chief minister Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna and Subhash Chandra Bose in Civil Lines, and Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar at Allahabad prime courtroom Crossing. UPCC spokesperson, Kishor Varshney, mentioned, "We have issued a show cause notice to Pandey and are identifying others who were present to welcome Joshi."
