PM Modi to lay foundation of mega projects in Kashi, Kanpur today

VARANASI/KANPUR: With simply days to head for announcement of the electoral time table and the style code coming into power, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will make a whistle-stop tour of Uttar Pradesh and lay foundations of a number of projects in Varanasi, Kanpur and Ghaziabad. In his constituency, Varanasi, he'll lay the basis of the flagship Kashi Vishwanath Temple enlargement (hall) challenge and deal with women self-help teams with National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM).

He may even felicitate women related to NRLM on International Women’s Day and give an opportunity to ladies to narrate their good fortune stories.


The PM will then land within the business city of Kanpur to launch projects and lay foundations of 298 others, however give a pass over to the bottom breaking ceremony at IIT-K because of his packed itinerary. He will as a substitute deal with a public assembly at Nirala Nagar railway floor.


Setting up of recent business units would draw funding of Rs 65,000 crore, said business development minister Satish Mahana.


He will unveil the Panki Power Plant and inaugurate the Lucknow Metro Rail Project via a video link from Amausi airport. Other large projects PM on his radar include the Agra Metro Rail Project. He may even distribute keys to beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana.
