BHUBANESWAR: Retired IPS officer Prakash Mishra — whose elimination as Odisha DGP in 2014 had snowballed into a significant political controversy — joined the BJP on Sunday. Sources said he is also fielded from Cuttack Lok Sabha seat.
Mishra, who also served as CRPG DG (2014-2016), said, “I had by no means considered joining politics, however was inspired with the operating taste of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Earlier, IAS officer Aparajita Sarangi took voluntary retirement and joined the BJP in November ultimate 12 months. She has been fielded from Bhubaneswar LS seat.
