Pune: Four-year-old boy drowns in water tank

PUNE: Police on Monday booked two developers for inflicting demise of a four-year-old boy because of negligence a day after he fell into a water tank and drowned.


The incident happened at an under-construction website in Trimurti Colony at Azadnagar in Kothrud on Sunday round 7.30pm.


Police stated a group of round 10 boys have been taking part in cover and search when one among them recognized as Pinak Satyavan Tonde slipped and he fell into an open water tank and drowned at about 7am. The boy was rushed to a nearby personal medical institution where he died all through treatment at round 8.45am.


The victim's body was passed over to his parents after acting post-mortem at the Sassoon General Hospital. Police had to begin with registered a complaint of accidental demise.


“The developers have been booked below segment 304 (a) (inflicting demise because of negligence) and 34 (commonplace goal) of the Indian Penal Code after investigations revealed that they had failed to cover the water tank,” Sub-inspector Praveen Jarde of the Kothrud police station stated.
