Pune: Tuition teacher booked for raping student

PUNE: The Pimpri police on Thursday registered an offence towards a instructor of a training class for allegedly raping a 17-year-old scholar at the promise of marriage.
The alleged incident took place between December 2017 and May 2018 at a lodge in Nigdi. The scholar lodged a criticism with the police on Thursday when the instructor refused to marry her.

The suspect has been booked beneath sections 376 (rape), 366 (kidnapping, abducting or inducing lady to compel her marriage) of the Indian Penal Code as well as the related sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

An officer from the Pimpri police told IdealNews that the complainant is a scholar at a city-based private college and used to wait private coaching categories. She came in contact with the suspect who was a instructor there.

“After getting acquainted with the student, the suspect started losing at her college. He used to select her up from the college and take her to a lodge in Nigdi where he used to rape her at the promise of marriage,” the officer stated.


The officer stated that the suspect is at the run. “We have launched a search for him,” he stated.


In August remaining year, a29-year-old dance instructor was arrested on Wednesday for repeatedly raping his 13-year-old stepdaughter for nine months.


Earlier within the year, in May, The Pune rural police had arrested a 31-year-old instructor of a non-public college for repeatedly raping a 15-year-old Class X scholar. The instructor had assaulted the minor woman at his space and at his colleague’s space. He also threatened her to stay quiet, saying that he would post her photos on social media.
