Ram Madhav: Cong-AIUDF forging unholy alliance

GUWAHATI: BJP basic secretary and celebration in charge of Assam, Ram Madhav, charged the Congress celebration with forging an unholy alliance with AIUDF, a day after Badruddin Ajmal, All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) leader and Dhubri MP, offered to help the Congress stem the saffron tide in the northeast.

"Everyone knows about the unholy nexus between AIUDF and Congress. People of Assam will reject such an alliance. The opposition does not have the courage and strength to face PM Narendra Modi. That is why they have formed alliances wherever possible," Madhav said at a press convention here on Sunday.

On Saturday, Ajmal offered to help the Congress celebration, at an election campaign in Dhubri: "We are desperate to help if Congress in point of fact wants it. We can sacrifice the rest, even our electoral prospect, to prevent the BJP.

AIUDF has 2-2.five lakh votes in its favour in virtually all of the parliamentary constituencies; those electorate can play a role in stopping BJP's progress in the state."
