THANE: Two 12-year-olds, who have been a few of the 14 scholars to had been selected from several city-based schools for the final leg of the National Children’s Science Congress (NCSC) secured the coveted grade ‘A’ for their research thesis on usage of floral waste.

After months of exhausting work making ready questionnaires, formulating surveys and conducting a lot of brainstorming periods, Ketaki Pawar and Purva Sawant from Saraswati Vidyalaya, Ghodbundar Road, controlled to bag the best rating in Thane district, baffling the judges with their leading edge concepts on the not too long ago concluded event at Bhubaneshwar.


“On a daily basis temples around the metropolis gather tonnes of floral waste. Sometimes it could be recycled to make organic compost and from time to time it just gets dumped rampantly in water our bodies. This concept afflicted me so much and I determined to work on it. My group mate and I we visited temples, housing complexes and noted how a lot waste is amassed. We then conducted our research online and found out that several merchandise can be constructed from those vegetation. With the assistance of professionals, we made organic face packs, essence sticks, rangoli colours, and so on. We also are planning to show some ways to girls within the rural areas so that they are able to be self-sufficient,” mentioned Pawar.
