HYDERABAD: The Congress has named former Union minister Renuka Chowdary as its candidate from Khammam Lok Sabha constituency and she is going to contest against TRS’s Nama Nageswara Rao, an industrialist and probably the most richest politicians in India. Renuka’s title figured within the 7th listing of applicants introduced on Friday night.
With Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) fielding Vasudev Rao and the CPM’s B Venkat in fray, the competition for Khammam seat has grew to become all of the more fascinating. Though political observers said that with Renuka combating from Khammam seat, it might be a directly contest between the Congress and the TRS within the constituency.

Tammineni Veerabhadram of CPM had won Khammam Lok Sabha seat in 1998 and TB Vittal Rao of CPI in 1957. “The Left parties have a robust base in Khammam and the CPM and CPI have labored for the welfare of adivasis within the constituency,” CPM state committee member M Srinivas told TOI.
Sources said Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, sitting MP from Khammam, lobbied for the Congress price tag, after he used to be denied TRS price tag by way of CM KCR, however used to be unsuccessful. Nageswara Rao used to be given the TRS price tag hours after he joined the birthday party after quitting the TDP.
