Row after minister attacks Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi in speech

NOIDA: A video appearing Gautam Buddh Nagar MP and Union minister Mahesh Sharma using remarks construed as objectionable against Congress president Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanka Gandhi is being circulated on social media.

In the five-minute video, shot on a cell phone, Sharma may also be noticed regarding Rahul as “Pappu” and Priyanka as “Pappi”. The minister apparently made the remarks all the way through a BJP assembly in Sikkandrabad on Saturday. Asked for a touch upon his speech, Sharma stated: “I've stated this a number of occasions. This one, I can’t be mindful.”

In his speech, the minister also attacked leaders of most political events that experience shaped the “mahagathbandhan” for the election. “If West Bengal chief minister Mamata Benerjee plays kathak right here, who's going to look her? If Deve Gowda (former Prime Minister HD Deve Dowda) plays flute right here and Karnataka CM H D Kumaraswamy sings a music, who will listen to them?” he asked.

Sharma further stated those events had come in combination to combat the BJP because they “are not looking for a solid executive”. “This coalition has most effective 72 seats in Parliament. They have united and say they'll give a boost to ‘Pappu’. He (Rahul) has always remained Pappu. Mayawati, Akhilesh, Pappu and his sister Pappi have come in combination,” he stated.

Referring to dynasty politics, Sharma stated Priyanka was always a part of the Nehru-Gandhi circle of relatives. “Was no longer Priyanka the rustic’s daughter earlier? Was no longer she a daughter of the Gandhi circle of relatives? First got here Nehru, then Rajiv Gandhi, Sanjay Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi…,” he may also be noticed announcing within the video.

The minister also sought to drum up give a boost to for PM Narendra Modi. “Modi will trade the face of the rustic within the next five years. He may even trade Pakistan’s face, mark my phrases,” he stated. “Today, the rustic needs Modi. And if the rustic needs Modi, give him a chance.” The Congress objected to the minister’s speech. Pawan Sharma, the party spokesperson in Noida, stated the MP’s speech indicated he was “scared” of a political contest.
