RAIPUR: One CRPF jawan used to be killed and 5 others were injured in an assault by way of Maoists in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada district on Monday, officers mentioned.
The Maoists first prompt an improvised explosive device (IED) after which opened hearth on CRPF troopers from the 231st battalion, who along with a state police unit, were on highway security accountability in the district's Aranpur space, they mentioned
The incident took place round four:30 pm close to the Central Reserve Police Force's Kamal publish in Dantewada, the officers mentioned.
In the assault, a CRPF head constable used to be killed and 5 personnel injured, a senior official of the paramilitary force mentioned.
The security forces were attacked in a forest between Kondapara and Kamalpur villages below the Aranpur police station limits, Dantewada Superintendent of Police Abhishek Pallava instructed PTI.
"The CRPF team returned fire. Five jawans have received injuries on the face in the encounter. The gunfight is still underway and reinforcements are being rushed to the site," he added.
The injured personnel are being taken for remedy by way of helicopter.
