SURAT: The six members of the family from Canada, who died in the Ethiopian Airline crash on Sunday, were from Gujarat and were travelling from Addis Ababa to Nairobi. The members of the family were from Surat and Vadodara and their family members are living in Surat.
Those who died were Prerit Dixit, 43, his spouse Kosha, 37, their daughters Ashka, 15, Anushka, 12 and Kosha’s folks Pannagesh Vaidya, 65, Hansini, 60. While Prerit’s folks are living in Surat, Kosha’s folks were from Vadodara.
Pannagesh, a mechanical engineer from M S University in Vadodara, had shifted to Ahmedabad few years in the past. He used to often go back and forth to Toronto and are living there together with his son Manan Vaidya. His daughter Kosha also lived with her biotechnologist husband Prerit in Toronto. Prerit, Kosha and two daughters have Canadian citizenship, their members of the family right here informed.
Prerit’s father Virendra Dixit, 72, and mother Parinda, 69, are living in Surat. They were informed in regards to the tragedy through Kosha’s uncle on Sunday evening. The family is yet to get affirmation if bodies had been recovered.
“We are going to Canada and if the bodies are passed over to us, we will choose to finish their remaining rites in Canada. We are yet to get any knowledge from govt officials but my daughter-in-law’s brother is in touch with Indian external affairs ministry seeking assistance,” Virendra, a retired bank officer living in New Citylight, informed TOI.
“We talked with Prerit and different members of the family on Saturday. He informed us they are going to keep in Africa till March 19. We had remaining met them in 2017,” mentioned Parinda.
Dixits informed IdealNews that, “Pannagesh’ buddy Prakash was once completing his trade in Ethiopia and permanently coming to are living in India. He had requested Pannagesh to return and keep few days with him. They worked together in past.”
Since Pannagesh and Hansini were making plans to visit Ethiopia, Prerit and Kosha also planned to enroll in with their daughters. They sought after to discuss with African safari in Kenya and Kosha’s birthplace Mombasa.
Pannagesh’s sister’s daughter Dhruti Trivedi, who lives in Ahmedabad, mentioned, “Two years in the past, my maternal uncle had come for my daughter’s baby shower. He had cooked wheat khichdo on his personal and referred to as up my mother announcing that it was once no longer as tasty as her recipe. She even promised to make khichdo for him when he returned to Ahmedabad.”
Union minister of external affairs, Sushma Swaraj, tweeted, “I'm sorry to grasp in regards to the unlucky crash of Ethiopian Airlines plane ET 302. We have lost four Indian nationals in the air crash. I have requested Indian High Commissioner in Ethiopia to provide all lend a hand and assistance to the bereaved households.”
