RANCHI: The state’s premier sanatorium, Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (Rims), in collaboration with US-based scientific devices, pharmaceutical and client packaged items manufacturing corporate — Johnson & Johnson (India) — organized a four-day ‘cell’ training programme from Monday for budding doctors and para scientific body of workers so that they can beef up their surgical skills. The training is part of the Centre’s initiative to coach 25,000 doctors, nurses and para scientific body of workers across 400 cities in the subsequent five years by sending a cell bus supplied with modern surgical equipment and applied sciences.
The cell unit named as Johnson & Johnson Institute on Wheels was once introduced by Dr Harshvardhan, the former Union minister for well being and circle of relatives welfare, in March 2018. The initiative was once taken up as a measure to satisfy the expanding demand for skilled doctors around the country.
Rims director D K Singh, who inaugurated the cell training programme, said: “I am expecting most participation from postgraduate doctors of surgical procedure and gynaecology departments as it'll assist them beef up their skills in the field of laparoscopic, gastrointestinal, cardio-thoracic surgeries and OT control. The amenities in the cell institute are commendable. MBBS scholars, who visited the cell unit, attended a video consultation and practised suturing, knotting and laparoscopic tactics underneath steering of Johnson & Johnson professionals.
