Coimbatore: Three pedestrians were killed after a speeding truck hit them on Sathyamangalam – Coimbatore Road at Annur on Monday night. The identification of the deceased is yet to be known.
The incident occurred at 6.45 pm when the trio, who gave the impression of migrant labourers, were strolling near Karuna Theatre at Annur. Suddenly, a speeding truck hit them from in the back of, killing them at the spot. The truck motive force didn't forestall the car and sped away.
When alerted, police held inquiry with the public and took the bodies to the government sanatorium in the locality.
According to police, two of the deceased are in their mid-20s, whilst the third one is in his mid-40s. Police said they were accumulating CCTV footages from road going through cameras to track the car involved in the fatal twist of fate.
