Belagavi: Vice President Venkaiah Naidu and governor Vajubhai Vala did not attend the 18th annual convocation of Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) on Monday due to the national mourning announced following the dying of Goa leader minister Manohar Parrikar.
VTU had made elaborate arrangements for the Vice-President’s welcome through spending around Rs 2 crore on the convocation’s stage and pandal. It was once the first-time, that the convocation programme was once being held outdoor the auditorium.

Madhushree secured the absolute best marks with 1st magnificence, scored the absolute best in UG/BE among SC/ST scholars and got the absolute best marks in BE Civil Engineering. Meghana Prakash, who secured the first rank in Electronics and Communication Engineering and got the absolute best marks among rank holders in any batch of BE, said she is operating in a private corporate and plans to go for higher research.
