Kanpur/Varanasi: Stone pelting on Vande Bharat Express continues as around nine window panes of the rustic’s fastest teach had been damaged in a recent incident close to Sarsaul railway station in Kanpur Nagar district on Sunday, police said on Monday. No passenger was once injured in this incident.
RPF incharge, Kanpur Central PK Ojha said, “On Sunday at around 11am, Varanasi-bound Vande Bharat Express left Kanpur and was once heading against Allahabad. It was once about to cross Prempur railway station in Sarsaul house of Kanpur when some miscreants threw stones at the teach damaging window panes of 5 coaches of the teach. Similar, act was once repeated once more close to Prempur railway station all through the down journey of the teach.”
Inspector, GRP, Varanasi Cantt railway station, Ashok Kumar Dubey said that an FIR was once registered against eight unidentified individuals after the teach reached here from Delhi. Later, the case was once transferred to Maharajpur police station in Kanpur for further investigation, he added. Dubey said an FIR was once lodged under section 52 of Railway Act, 147, 149, 336 of IPC and seven CL Act.
GRP officers said that it was once a 2nd FIR lodged in connection with the attack on Vande Bharat Express in this region. An FIR was once lodged with Suriyava police in Bhadohi district final month. Since its release between Delhi and Varanasi on February 18, the teach has been attacked more than seven times, said the officers.
