Surendranagar MP Devji Fatehpara cries conspiracy

Rajkot: Surendranagar MP Devji Fatehpara, who used to be denied BJP ticket for the Lok Sabha polls, accused two party leaders of conspiring his ouster.
The BJP made up our minds to drop Fatehpara and selected Dr Mahendra Munjpara to contest from Surendranagar.

Talking to journalists at his place of abode in Rajkot on Sunday, Fatehpara alleged he used to be denied ticket on the behest of Wadhvan MLA Dhanji Patel (Makson) and former minister Jayanti Kavadia.

“According to intelligence bureau (IB) file, my possibilities of winning used to be 95 percent. During the sense-taking process too, 85% other people favoured my candidature. There used to be no believable reason for denying me the ticket.”

He also accused the BJP of side-lining the Koli leaders. “Before me, Soma Ganda and Shamji Chauhan were proven the door,” he claimed. Fatehpara also blamed Congress turncoat and now a minister, Kunvarji Bavalia, for no longer supporting him although he's the tallest chief of the local Koli community.

When requested about his subsequent technique, Fatehpara stated he'll take move by the advice of his supporters and community. He also hinted of joining the Congress and work to defeat Dr Munjpara.

Fatehpara also alleged that Dhanji Patel had requested him to give his Delhi bungalow to his relative, which he denied. However, Dhanji Patel denied the allegation later.

Dr Munjpara also belongs to Chuvadia Koli community, the same oas Fatehpara. A training heart specialist, Dr Munjpara has a clinic in Surendranagar and had joined BJP few years ago. He can be contesting his maiden election when Gujarat is going to polls on April 23.

Dr Munjpara used to be also the physician of former Gujarat leader minister Keshubhai Patel.
