Tug boat capsize: Six rescued, one missing

MUMBAI: One particular person is lacking and six others rescued after a tug boat capsized on Monday morning within the Arabian Sea off the Worli coast in Mumbai, police stated.
The tug boat "Revati" was sporting seven persons, a Coast Guard helicopter, an inshore patrol vessel, and personnel from the Mumbai police's coastal unit were deployed for the rescue effort, he informed.


Revati was on its technique to Tarapur from Mumbai with a team of seven when it capsized within the morning, a Coast Guard spokesperson stated.

A distress call was received from the vessel after which Coast Guard Ship Amartya, a fast patrol vessel on surveillance responsibility, was diverted for the search and rescue operation, he stated.


ICGS Amartya reached the spot and rescued six occupants from the sinking tug, he stated.


The search and rescue operation for the 7th occupant of the boat is still below approach and two ships and a Chetak helicopter had been deployed, he added.


Apart from a floor search by means of the 2 ships, two helicopter sorties had been introduced as part of a coordinated sea-air search and rescue operation for the 7th particular person, he stated.


The rescued tug occupants had been given clinical support and their condition is strong, he stated.
