VADODARA: Three law enforcement officials have been injured after a police crew from Karelibaug police station was attacked by way of history-sheeters close to Kasamala cemetery on Wednesday night.
Policemen had gone to the cemetery to arrest Hussain Sunni, a ordinary wrongdoer, and his accomplices after a girl Priti Kahar lodged a criticism of robbery in opposition to him.
Sunni, his uncle Salim alias Teen Patti Sunni and his two brothers Akbar Sunni and Sikander Sunni have been playing out of doors their area close to the cemetery when the law enforcement officials reached there.
On seeing the police crew, Sunni brandished a sword and the opposite three picked up stones from within reach and dared policemen to nab them.
Anticipating that Sunni will retaliate, a big crew had come to nab them. As the law enforcement officials walked in path of the accused, they began pelting stones.
Sunni also tried to attack H M Patel, a sub-inspector, along with his sword but Patel controlled to clutch it away and held Sunni.
Even when Sunni was being taken towards the police van, he stored punching the law enforcement officials after which bit Patel on his arm. Other policemen nabbed Salim and Sikander.
However Akbar was a hit controlled to escape. Besides Patel, two constables – Bhavesh Ratilal and Vanrajsinh Rangusinh – sustained accidents on their legs. The injured law enforcement officials have been then rushed to SSG Hospital for remedy.
Police said that sooner than attacking them, Sunni had barged into the home of Kahar close to Arya Kanya Vidyalaya on Wednesday night. He and his accomplices alleged that Kahar had informed police about his playing activities due to which he had to close his trade.
Sunni, Sikander, Salim and their buddy Anas Memon thrashed Kahar and robbed her cash amounting to Rs5,000. Later Kahar gave criticism in opposition to him at Karelibaug police station.
“Sunni was already wanted in a playing case and he is a ordinary wrongdoer. In the past he was arrested under Prohibition Act, assault and homicide circumstances and even detained PASA and externed from the town,” said inspector R I Jadeja of Karelibaug police station.
Sunni had escaped from Karelibaug police station in September 2017. He was arrested in a bootlegging case.
